SENATOR MIKE NOZZOLIO HIGHLIGHTS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

 

In recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, State Senator Mike Nozzolio is encouraging women to contact their health care providers to receive regular screenings for breast cancer. 

"Breast cancer is more treatable the earlier it is detected,” said Senator Nozzolio. “I hope that this month especially, women will take the time to discuss screening options with their doctors.”

SENATOR NOZZOLIO VOWS TO VOTE AGAINST RADICAL LEGISLATION THAT WOULD GIVE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS THE RIGHT TO VOTE AND HOLD OFFICE IN NEW YORK

Measure Pushed by Senate Democrats Would Become Law if Conference is Handed Keys to the Chamber:

 Senator Mike Nozzolio today vowed to lead the fight and vote against radical legislation sponsored by New York City Democrat Gustavo Rivera and State Senate Democrats that would give illegal immigrants the right to vote and hold office in New York State.

 Senator Nozzolio called the measure "an insult to law-abiding New Yorkers and a drain on the tax dollars of hardworking people."

Amy Cram of Seneca Falls Nominated as Senator Mike Nozzolio’s First “Constituent of the Week”

Amy Cram, owner of Bill Cram Chevrolet in Seneca Falls, has been nominated as Senator Mike Nozzolio’s first “Constituent of the Week.” Amy has long been a community advocate and has dedicated herself to improving the Finger Lakes region. Inspired by her daughter, Rebecca, who has Down syndrome, she has been active with Happiness House and serves on its board. Additionally, Amy served on the Finger Lakes Region American Red Cross Board of Directors, is co-leader of a Girl Scout troop and a sponsor of youth soccer and youth baseball teams.

SENATOR MIKE NOZZOLIO ANNOUNCES LEGISLATION TO AID VICTIMS OF ELDER ABUSE SIGNED INTO LAW

Continuing his fight to combat the rising trend of elder abuse, State Senator Michael Nozzolio, Chairman of Senate Codes Committee, announced today that legislation he sponsored, to protect elderly individuals from becoming victims of abuse, was signed into law.

 Senator Nozzolio’s legislation, S.7188, supports elderly crime victims who must testify in court by allowing a caregiver or family member to accompany them to court.

Thirteen years ago on September 11th, 2001, we witnessed one of the darkest days in our State and Nation’s history. It was a day that forever changed the way we look at the world.

On the thirteenth anniversary of September 11th, we pause to reflect on how our world was fundamentally altered by that tragedy and its enduring impact over the last decade. As we solemnly honor the memory of those who lost their lives that day, we can also look back with pride on the sacrifices,commitment and dedication of the thousands of Americans who answered the call to duty in the wake of such an enormous tragedy.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO SCORES HIGH IN NATIONAL FEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT BUSINESS VOTING RECORD

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio recently secured one of the highest scores in the State Senate in this year’s National Federation of Independent Business’s annual voting record.

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is the nation’s leading small business advocacy association and releases an annual voting record to help New York voters gauge state lawmaker’s support for legislation that is pro-small business.

“Independent businesses are the catalyst for new job growth in our State, particularly in the Greater Finger Lakes region. They are integral to rebuilding our economy and creating a better future for our State and Nation,” said Senator Nozzolio.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO AND ASSEMBLYMAN OAKS CALL ON FEDERAL REPRESENTATIVES TO OPPOSE PLAN THAT WOULD BE CATASTROPHIC TO THE RESIDENTS AND TAXPAYERS OF EVERY COUNTY BORDERING LAKE ONTARIO

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio and State Assemblyman Bob Oaks joined together to call on the area's Federal Representatives to oppose plans changing the way Lake Ontario water levels are regulated.  These changes will result in establishing a manmade disaster of catastrophic economic impact to Wayne County and the entire northern tier of New York State.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO URGES LOCAL CHILDREN TO EXPLORE THROUGH SUMMERTIME READING

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio is urging students across his Senate District to have fun reading this summer by participating in the 2014 New York Statewide Summer Reading Program.

 

"Evidence shows that children who stop reading over summer vacation often fall behind when they return to school in September,” said Senator Nozzolio. "This program is designed to get children to realize the rewards of reading by encouraging them to exercise their imaginations and make reading a daily event this summer," said Senator Nozzolio.
