Senator Mike Nozzolio To Serve As Vice Co-Chairman Of Heroin and Opioid Addiction Task Force

Citing the immediate need to stop the dramatic increase in the use of heroin and opioid-based illegal drugs, New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that he has been appointed to serve as Vice Co-Chairman of the Senate Heroin and Opioid Addiction Task Force. The Task Force will work to strengthen criminal justice laws and develop recommendations for preventing drug addiction.

Senator Nozzolio Appointed Chairman of Senate Joint Budget Conference Committee for Public Protection

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio has been appointed to serve as the Senate Chairman of the Joint Budget Conference Committee for Public Protection.  The Public Protection Budget Conference Committee is responsible for reviewing all aspects of the criminal justice budget, and budgets for correctional services, military and naval affairs, the state police, the judiciary and homeland security.

Senator Nozzolio Calls on the New York City Council to Stop Polystyrene Ban

A proposed ban on polystyrene foam food service containers would have a devastating impact on businesses in the Finger Lakes region, including Pactiv, which employs over 800 workers at their Canandaigua facility. The ban is supported by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Councilman Lewis Fidler. The New York City Council Committee on Sanitation and Solid Waste Management recently held a hearing regarding banning polystyrene food service containers.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO ANNOUNCES $150,000 GRANT FOR THE SAMPSON VETERANS MEMORIAL CEMETERY

Continuing his aggressive efforts to honor and support our veterans, State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that he has secured $150,000 in State funding for the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery. This funding will be used to complete the next stage of renovations and finish work on the chapel. The chapel is a restored building that served as a firehouse on the original Sampson Naval Base.
