STATE SENATE APPROVES SENATOR NOZZOLIO LEGISLATION TO ESTABLISH 9/11 REMEMBRANCE FLAG

Continuing his efforts to create a lasting tribute to the fallen heroes and loved ones of September 11th, New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that the Senate has adopted legislation (S.3538A) he introduced and sponsored to allow a special September 11th Remembrance Flag to be flown alongside the American, New York State and POW flags.

Ask your Federal Representatives to Support Legislation Reimbursing Local Counties Impacted By Indian Land Trust

One of the most important and serious issues facing property taxpayers in Cayuga and Seneca Counties is the Cayuga Indian Nation's application for trust status on land they have purchased in Cayuga and Seneca County.  If approved, the Cayuga's can request that ALL the land that they have purchased in Cayuga and Seneca County be removed from the tax rolls.  Simply put, it means they will pay NO property taxes on all the acres of land that they now own in our two counties.

STATE SENATE ENACTS SENATOR NOZZOLIO’S LEGISLATION TO DISCONTINUE EXPENSIVE, INEFFECTIVE BALLISTICS DATABASE

The New York State Senate has adopted legislation authored and introduced by State Senator Mike Nozzolio (S.459) that will save taxpayers $4 million per year by eliminating the New York Combined Ballistic Identification System (CoBIS), a tracking system for ammunition that has failed to solve a single gun crime since it was implemented 10 years ago.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO CONGRATULATES STATE ROAD ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ON WINNING EARTH DAY POSTER CONTEST

State Senator Mike Nozzolio today congratulated four students from the State Road Elementary School in Webster for being selected as winners in the New York State Senate 2011 Earth Day Poster Contest.  Third graders Jack Hoctor, Brennen Albert, Joel Farmen and Siraj Clark had their winning artwork displayed at the State Capitol as part of a special exhibit to raise awareness of recycling and waste reduction.

Senator Nozzolio Welcomes Herman Avenue 5th Graders to the State Capitol

Albany- Senator Nozzolio recently welcomed 5th grade students from the Herman Avenue Elementary School in Auburn as they visited Albany to learn more about the history of New York State. Senator Nozzolio joined Assemblyman Gary Finch in hosting a special luncheon for the students and arranged for them to tour the historic New York State Capitol building and the New York State Museum.
