Congratulations Javon McCrea, Newark High School Grad, Invited to the USA Basketball Training Camp

Congratulations Javon McCrea, University of Buffalo student athlete and Newark High School graduate, who was invited to the USA Basketball training camp in Colorado Springs. Javon was invited to the USA Basketball men’s training camp in Colorado Springs from June 17-24 and will have the chance at being chosen to participate in a 12-man squad to represent the U.S. at the Championships this summer. SENATOR NOZZOLIO CONGRATULATES STATE ROAD ELEMENTARY STUDENTS ON WINNING EARTH DAY POSTER CONTEST

State Senator Mike Nozzolio today congratulated four students from the State Road Elementary School in Webster for being selected as winners in the New York State Senate 2011 Earth Day Poster Contest.  Third graders Jack Hoctor, Brennen Albert, Joel Farmen and Siraj Clark had their winning artwork displayed at the State Capitol as part of a special exhibit to raise awareness of recycling and waste reduction.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO ANNOUNCES LEGISLATION TO EXPAND MEDICAID FRAUD PROSECUTION ADOPTED BY SENATE

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio announced that the Senate has adopted legislation he co-sponsored (S.594) that will bring New York State a tremendous step forward in addressing the multi-billion dollar crime of Medicaid fraud. This measure would greatly assist in the recovery of lost Medicaid funds and save the State time and resources by allowing local district attorneys to prosecute Medicaid provider fraud.

Senator Nozzolio Welcomes Herman Avenue 5th Graders to the State Capitol

Albany- Senator Nozzolio recently welcomed 5th grade students from the Herman Avenue Elementary School in Auburn as they visited Albany to learn more about the history of New York State. Senator Nozzolio joined Assemblyman Gary Finch in hosting a special luncheon for the students and arranged for them to tour the historic New York State Capitol building and the New York State Museum.

Senator Nozzolio Congratulates 2011 Wrestling State Champions Craig and Owen Scott

Albany- New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio honored Palmyra-Macedon High School seniors Craig and Owen Scott for each winning the New York State Division II wrestling championship in their respective weight classes. Craig won the championship in the 171-pound division and Owen won for the 160-pound division, the second consecutive state title for both wrestlers.

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio today commended the United States Postal Service for making the postage stamp commemorating the Purple Heart medal a “forever” stamp, ensuring that this reminder of the tremendous sacrifices made by our Nation’s servicemen and women will always continue in circulation. New York State Senate Crime Victims, Crime and Correction Chairman Mike Nozzolio has announced that the e-STOP Internet safety law has resulted in the removal of more than 24,000 accounts and online profiles linked to registered sex offenders. Senator Nozzolio led the fight in the State Senate to enact e-STOP when it was first established in 2008.
