Continuing his commitment to promoting job creation, tax relief and restoring economic growth, State Senator Mike Nozzolio and his Senate colleagues today adopted the 2012 NEW JOBS-NY Job Creation Plan (S.7448). The Senate’s comprehensive plan will help create thousands of new private sector jobs by delivering tax relief to small businesses and manufacturers, reducing energy costs, and enacting major fiscal reforms to make New York State more economically competitive.

Continuing his fight to protect the taxpayers of New York, State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that the Senate has adopted legislation (S.476) he is sponsoring requiring State and county correctional facility inmates to make co-payments for health care visits, the same policy that is in place in the federal prison system and 2/3 of the states.

Low Cost Power Will Help Create and Retain Hundreds of Jobs Across the Region
State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that nearly 50 private sector employers and not-for-profit organizations across the Greater Finger Lakes Region will receive lower cost power allocations under the ReCharge New York (RNY) program. ReCharge New York is a major statewide initiative that Senator Nozzolio worked with Governor Cuomo to establish that will retain and create jobs by making low-cost power available to New York State employers and manufacturers.
ALBANY- Senator Nozzolio met recently with State Department of Agriculture Commissioner Darrel Aubertine to discuss initiatives to promote our State’s farms and winemakers, including the new Viticulture Center project at the New York State Agriculture and Food Technology Park in Geneva. Senator Nozzolio worked with Governor Cuomo to secure funding in the State Budget to help Finger Lakes Community College expand its groundbreaking Viticulture and Wine Technology program at the Ag-Tech Park.
State Senator Mike Nozzolio and State Assemblyman Brian Kolb today announced that they have successfully secured $8 million in the State Budget for a major expansion at the Cornell Agriculture and Food Technology Park that will create local jobs and continue to put our region at the cutting edge of agricultural research and development.
Senator Nozzolio was shadowed at the State Capitol by local high school students Allyson Blazey, a senior at Palmyra-Macedon; Marina Barci, a senior at Wayne Central; and Christopher DePalma, a junior at Geneva. State Senator Mike Nozzolio is reminding taxpayers that beginning Sunday, April 1st, all clothing and shoes costing less than $110 each will be exempt from the New York State’s sales tax. The elimination of this sales tax is estimated to save New Yorkers $210 million over the next year.
In recognition of individuals diagnosed with autism, as well as their families and the dedicated professionals who work with them, State Senator Mike Nozzolio is helping to commemorate next month, April 2012, as Autism Awareness Month.
