Senator Mike Nozzolio Welcomes Cayuga Community College Students to the State Capitol

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently welcomed Cayuga Community College students  Dawn Varney and Brian Knapp to the State Capital as part of Community College Advocacy Day.  The students met with Senator Nozzolio to discuss issues facing New York's community colleges and the importance of affordable education for veterans and working parents. Dawn is treasurer of the Cayuga Community College Fulton Campus Student Government and Brian is a Marine Corps veteran and the Commander of the Cayuga Community College Veterans Club.

In the Finger Lakes region, agriculture is the backbone of our economy and local communities. Virtually every business, family and individual in our region directly or indirectly depends on agriculture, the single largest job producing enterprise in New York State.

As a strong advocate for New York’s hardworking farm families, I was pleased to see the commitment and dedication of our Nation's farmers recognized during this year’s Superbowl  with the reading of Paul Harvey's “So God Made a Farmer”.  This inspiring tribute is a reminder of the fortitude and determination of our Country's farmers.

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio was recently honored by the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) with its “Guardian of Small Business” award.  The “Guardian of Small Business” award is the highest award given by the NFIB and it recognizes Senator Nozzolio’s strong commitment and support of New York's job-producing, independent small business owners.

Senator Nozzolio Thanks U.S. Army Corporal Ryan McNally of Romulus for his Service to Our Nation

Senator Nozzolio recently met with U.S. Army Corporal Ryan McNally of Romulus to thank him for his selfless and dedicated service to our Nation. Corporal McNally serves in the Army’s 10th Mountain Division based at Fort Drum and has previously been deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan as a member of the 19th Engineer Battalion. After been wounded in Iraq, he was awarded the prestigious Purple Heart medal for his courageous sacrifice.

Before the dedication ceremony began, Senator Nozzolio spoke with Rear Admiral Richard West, who was Keynote Speaker, and Commander Tom Watt, who served as Master of Ceremonies.The cemetery had been scheduled to open May 21.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO ANNOUNCES IMPORTANT AUTISM INSURANCE BILL ENACTED BY STATE SENATE

The New York State Senate today voted to enact important legislation co-sponsored by State Senator Mike Nozzolio(S.4005)  that will require accident and health insurance policies to provide coverage for screening, diagnosis and treatment for patients with autism spectrum disorders. The legislation has been adopted in both houses of the State Legislature and only awaits Governor Cuomo’s signature to become law.
