Yes! I support Senator Nozzolio's plan to use the over $3 billion dollars from the French Bank BNP Paribas settlement with New York State, to eliminate the GEA for good! The GEA is an unfair school aid cut, enacted in 2010 by the New York City legislators who, at the time, controlled the Senate, the Assembly and the Governor's office. From its inception, the GEA has cost school districts all across the State, billions of dollars in badly needed state aid.
Protecting our Second Amendment rights is a profound responsibility that I have always taken very seriously. That is why, in an effort to lead the fight against Governor Cuomo’s ill-conceived gun control law, I have personally introduced legislation that would REPEAL the so-called Safe Act. My legislation, Senate Bill 5626, repeals the Safe Act but keeps intact the provision in law which mandates life without parole for anyone who murders an emergency responder.

Recently, the New York State Senate took a tremendous step forward in adopting a tougher stance against violent crime by enacting “Brittany’s Law - Domestic Violence Prevention Act” (S.1850A), legislation I sponsored to create a statewide registry tracking violent felony offenders.
