New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that the State Senate has taken a tremendous step forward in adopting a tougher stance against violent crime by enacting “Brittany’s Law” (S.3645A), legislation he sponsored to create a statewide registry tracking violent felony offenders.
Continuing his aggressive efforts to strengthen criminal justice and victim services and raise awareness of violence against women, State Senator Mike Nozzolio is helping to recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Continuing his fight to enhance law enforcement efforts across the State, Senator Mike Nozzolio is co-sponsoring legislation (S.5560-A) that has been adopted in the State Senate providing for the largest expansion of New York’s DNA databank since it was created in 1994. The legislation would require individuals convicted of any felony or any misdemeanor in the penal law to submit DNA samples to the databank.
