SENATOR NOZZOLIO ANNOUNCES LEGISLATION PROTECTING STUDENTS FROM TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES SIGNED INTO LAW

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that Governor Cuomo has signed into law legislation (S.3953) he co-sponsored and fought to enact that establishes guidelines for coaches, teachers and other school personnel to protect our students from concussions and traumatic brain injuries.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO TO HOST EDUCATION FORUM WITH SENATE EDUCATION CHAIRMAN

Continuing his efforts to ensure fair and equitable treatment for school districts in our region, State Senator Mike Nozzolio has announced that he will be hosting a forum on education on Friday, February 3rd  from 10-12 noon at the Ramada Lakefront Hotel in Geneva.  Senator Nozzolio will be joined by Senator John Flanagan, Chairman of the New York State Senate Committee on Education.

Local High School Students Shadow Senator Nozzolio at the State Capitol

Senator Nozzolio was shadowed at the State Capitol by local high school students Allyson Blazey, a senior at Palmyra-Macedon; Marina Barci, a senior at Wayne Central; and Christopher DePalma, a junior at Geneva. The students visited Albany as part of the 12th Annual Students Inside Albany conference, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New York State Education Foundation, Inc. The program is designed to increase high school students’ awareness of their responsibility in representative government and provide the tools necessary for meeting that responsibility.
