State Senator Mike Nozzolio today joined a number of his New York State Senate Colleagues in demanding President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, and the United States Congress to move the 9/11 terrorist trials out of New York City.
The New York State Senate today overwhelmingly voted to enact a resolution co-sponsored and strongly supported by Senator Mike Nozzolio urging President Barack Obama and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder not to hold the September 11th terrorism trials in New York City.
This important victory in the War on Terror is a testament to the bravery and sacrifice of our military heroes who have put their lives on the line to defend our Nation in the years since 9/11. In the days following September 11th, the worst terrorist attack on American soil, I vividly remember meeting and consoling the families of those who lost husbands and wives, sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters and friends and coworkers, as they mourned the loss of their loved ones.
On the eleven-year anniversary of September 11th , we pause to reflect on one of the darkest days in our State and Nation’s history. We solemnly honor the memory of those who lost their lives, and look back on the sacrifices, commitment and dedication of the thousands of Americans who answered the call to duty in the wake of such an enormous tragedy.
As New Yorkers across the State gather to remember our fallen heroes and loved ones, I will be participating in two ceremonies in the Finger Lakes region.
