SENATOR NOZZOLIO TO HONOR VETERANS AT SAMPSON VETERANS MEMORIAL CEMETERY MEMORIAL DAY EVENT

Honoring our Nation’s greatest heroes, as well as recognizing our region’s historic significance as the birthplace of Memorial Day, State Senator Mike Nozzolio will be speaking at in a special Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 25th at the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Romulus.

Don’t Let the Tax Cap Expire: Let’s KEEP THE CAP!

From creating the historic STAR and Enhanced STAR programs, to enacting property tax rebate legislation, the Senate Republican Majority has consistently led the fight to provide hardworking families with property tax relief. 

We also helped enact the state’s Property Tax Cap – a landmark measure which has proven to be one of the most successful tax relief initiatives in State history.  Over the past four years the property tax cap has saved hardworking homeowners across the state more than $7.6 billion.

James Durkin

James Durkin entered the United States Marine Corps in April 1974, and was discharged in May 1984. He was attached to Marine Air squadron VAMQ-2 for nine years, and during this time he was dispatched to the USS Midway, USS Nimitz and other carriers in the fleet. Mr. Durkin received his Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) eligibility during the Iran Hostage Crisis, when he earned The Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal. For gratitude for his service, he received 3 Marine Good Conduct Medals, 2 Marine Corps Unit Commendations, 2 Navy Meritorious Unit Commendations, 5 Sea Service Ribbons and the Marine Corps Recruiting Medal.

DISTINGUISHED LOCAL VETERAN JAMES DURKIN HONORED BY SENATOR MIKE NOZZOLIO AT INDUCTION INTO NEW YORK STATE VETERANS HALL OF FAME

Past Commander of the Department of New York Veterans of Foreign Wars, James Durkin, was recently nominated for induction into the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame by State Senator Mike Nozzolio.  James Durkin was inducted during a special ceremony at the State Capitol for his service to our Nation, as well as his dedicated efforts supporting his fellow veterans and their families.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO APPLAUDS CONGRESSMAN JOHN KATKO FOR OPPOSITION TO THE INTERNATIONAL JOINT COMMISSION PLAN 2014

Senator Mike Nozzolio and Assemblyman Bob Oaks recently sent correspondence to Congressman John Katko thanking him for his ongoing opposition at the federal level to the IJC’s Plan 2014.  Senator Nozzolio has long been opposed to Plan 2014 as it would devastate lakefront communities in Wayne County and across Upstate New York.

In recognition of her achievement as an important business leader committed to charitable causes throughout the Finger Lakes Region, Amy Cram was among the outstanding women from across New York State who were honored at the 2015 "Women of Distinction" ceremony on May 5th at the State Capitol in Albany. Amy Cram owns and operates Bill Cram Inc. in Seneca Falls, New York and was nominated for this honor by State Senator Mike Nozzolio.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO HOSTS GENEVA MIDDLE SCHOOL'S STUDENT COUNCIL

Senator Nozzolio recently hosted Geneva Middle School's Student Council at the New York State Capitol in Albany.  The group visited Albany to learn more about their New York State government and to meet with Senator Nozzolio and Assemblyman Brian Kolb.  The students toured the Capitol, visited the state museum and had the opportunity to witness official proceedings of the New York State Senate.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO WELCOMES INCOMING CORNELL PRESIDENT ELIZABETH GARRETT TO NEW YORK STATE CAPITOL

Senator Mike Nozzolio recently welcomed incoming Cornell University President, Elizabeth Garrett, to the New York State Capitol.  President Garrett previously served as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Southern California (USC) and will begin her term at Cornell on July 1st of this year.
