SAMPSON VETERANS MEMORIAL CEMETERY: 1 YEAR LATER

A wise observer once commented, the days may be long, but the years go by quickly.

In many ways, it is very hard to believe already a year has gone by since over 2000 people gathered with great honor and dignity to dedicate the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

On that beautiful Finger Lakes summer day in late July 2011, many generations from all across America came together to honor our veterans, and to thank them for their great service to our beloved Nation.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO ANNOUNCES NEW LAW TO HELP INCREASE EARLY DETECTION OF BREAST CANCER

New York State Senator Nozzolio today announced that legislation he supported to improve early breast cancer detection has been signed into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The new law, S.6769B, will increase women’s awareness of the presence of dense breast tissue found during a mammography exam. Dense breast tissue can make it more difficult to detect tumors.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO ENCOURAGING COLD WAR VETERANS TO APPLY FOR RECOGNITION CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

State Senator Mike Nozzolio is encouraging local servicemen and women to apply for a Federal program that gives recognition to our valued veterans and government employees who served our Nation during the Cold War.

“It has long been my belief that there is no greater debt of honor than that which every American citizen owes to individuals who selflessly served our Nation during times of need,” said Senator Nozzolio. “The courage, preparedness and dedication of thousands of servicemen and women was crucial in keeping our Country safe and secure during the Cold War, and I am pleased that this important recognition is available to those who served at this challenging time.”

Senator Nozzolio Honors Syracuse University Football Legend Floyd Little

State Senator Mike Nozzolio recently honored Syracuse University Football legend Floyd Little on the floor of the historic New York State Senate chamber. Little is the only three time All-America running back to play for Syracuse and  still holds the University's career  record  for  touchdowns. In 1967, he was picked as a first round draft choice by the Denver Broncos, with whom he was named an American Football League All-Star. He was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO ANNOUNCES STATE SENATE RENEWS SUPPORT FOR “BRITTANY’S LAW”

State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that he and his Senate colleagues have renewed their commitment to adopting a tougher stance against violent crime by once again enacting “Brittany’s Law” (S.3645D), legislation Senator Nozzolio sponsored to create a statewide registry tracking violent felony offenders.

SENATOR NOZZOLIO ANNOUNCES LEGISLATION TO STOP BULLYING AND CYBERBULLING ADOPTED IN STATE SENATE

Continuing his efforts to ensure the safety of  students in New York’s schools,  State Senator Mike Nozzolio today announced that the Senate has adopted legislation he is co-sponsoring legislation to strictly prohibit school bullying in all forms. The legislation (S.7740) comprehensively defines bullying to ensure that all students are protected and addresses both conventional bullying and online cyber-bullying.
