Senator Nozzolio Secures A $500,000 State Grant For The Hillside Children’s Center Varick Campus

Varick – Continuing his commitment to creating jobs in the Central Finger Lakes and the Hillside Children's Center in Varick, New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio (R-Fayette) today announced that he has secured a $500,000 State grant for the facility. The funding will be used for infrastructure improvements and renovations needed throughout the campus. Senator Nozzolio played a critical role in recruiting Hillside Children's Center to expand their operations at the former Seneca Army Depot in 2004.

Nozzolio Opposes Governor Paterson's Tax and Fee Increases

Restructure the Clothing Exemption. Eliminates the sales tax exemption for clothing and footwear priced under $110 and replaces it with two, one-week exemption periods for clothing and footwear priced under $500. Localities will have an option to join the state in offering this exemption.

Sampson Veterans Cemetery Becomes Reality: State Land Transferred To Seneca County

Waterloo – State Senator Michael Nozzolio joined state and county officials today for the official transfer of a parcel of land in Sampson State Park from the State of New York to Seneca County. The 162-acre plot of land in the Park will be the site of the new Sampson Veterans Cemetery.

Legislature Approves Nozzolio Bill To Establish Veterans’ Cemetery

Albany - State Senator Michael Nozzolio (R-Fayette) and State Assemblyman Joseph D. Morelle (D-Irondequoit) have announced that their joint legislation to establish a Veterans’ cemetery at the former Sampson Naval and Air Force Base in Seneca County has been approved by their respective houses of the State legislature. The legislation was adopted by the Senate earlier this month and was adopted by the Assembly late Tuesday night, with only two days left in the 2007 legislative session.

Nozzolio: School Resource Officer Program Saved!

Albany- New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio today announced that he and his Senate colleagues have successfully rejected plans to eliminate the School Resource Officer (SRO) Program and redeploy 92 State Troopers from their positions in schools across the State. The final 2008-2009 State Budget provides for all 92 SROs to remain on their current assignments, adopting a measure from the Senate’s budget resolution.

Albany – New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio was joined by over 800 New York State correctional officers at a rally at the State Capitol today to oppose the proposed closure of four upstate prisons.
