Senator Nozzolio Pays Tribute To Dr. Frank Nicchi

Seneca Falls- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented Dr. Frank Nicchi with a special New York State Resolution that was adopted in the State Senate in recognition of his 10 years of service as President of New York Chiropractic College at the Reunion Weekend dinner. Senator Nozzolio also presented Dr. Nicchi with a special New York State flag that was flown over the State Capitol in Albany.

Remembering the Life of Michael A Oropallo

Auburn - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently paid special tribute to Michael “Mike” Oropallo by recognizing his valuable contributions to the community at the dedication of the Oropallo Recreation Complex in Auburn. Senator Nozzolio also presented the Oropallo family with a special New York State flag that was flown over the State Capitol in Albany.

AUBURN- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the Owasco Watershed Lake Association’s 3rd Annual Lake Day on his continued efforts to preserve Owasco Lake's water quality. Senator Nozzolio also congratulated Ashley Kukella and Daniel Biljanoski for their dedication and commitment to the Owasco Watershed Lake Association (OWLA) while working with the Blue Print II organization.

Lyons Peppermint Days 20th Anniversary

Lyons - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently stopped to acknowledge the volunteers at the annual Lyons Peppermint Days Festival which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. The Peppermint Days Festival was established as a way to celebrate the history of the Hotchkiss Company. At one time the company produced over a third of all the peppermint oil manufactured in the United States.

In response to the Cayuga Indian Nation’s recent purchase of yet another parcel of land in Seneca Falls, State Senator Mike Nozzolio is calling on the area's federal representatives, officials at the United States Department of the Interior and the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs to visit Cayuga and Seneca Counties and see for themselves the amount of land that the Cayuga's have purchased.  If all of the land that has been purchased by the Cayuga Indian Nation is granted trust status it will destroy the tax base of Cayuga and Seneca Counties.

Benefit for Helen Buchel and Brittany Passalaqua

Geneva -Senator Mike Nozzolio recently participated in a benefit for the family of Helen Buchel and Brittany Passalaqua. The benefit was held to help the family to pay for funeral expenses. Senator Nozzolio is working with the family on legislation to strengthen the laws regarding parole in New York State.

STATEMENT FROM SENATOR NOZZOLIO ON THE UNFINISHED STATE BUDGET

It is unconscionable that after three months of missed deadlines, secret negotiations, huge spending and tax increases and a costly week-to-week extender process, Senate Democrats are now leaving Albany with the State budget still unfinished. Instead, they continue to hold New York State taxpayers hostage by refusing to act on a bill that would pay for all the spending they added to the budget.
