Palmyra- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently participated in the 13th annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Senator Nozzolio helped to cut the ribbon at the beginning of the survivor’s lap.

Geneva - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently attended the 50th wedding anniversary celebration for Paul and Ethel Peters of Geneva. Senator Nozzolio presented Paul and Ethel with a formal New York State Resolution to recognize this special event. The Resolution was adopted in the New York State Senate on April 27, 2010.

The New York State Senate today voted to enact important legislation co-sponsored by State Senator Mike Nozzolio that will require accident and health insurance policies to provide coverage for screening, diagnosis and treatment for patients with autism spectrum disorders.
Auburn - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented members of the Auburn Fire Department Local 1446 with a special New York State flag that was previously flown over the State Capitol in Albany.

State Senator Mike Nozzolio strongly denounced the New York State Parole Board for a number of shocking incidents in which violent criminals were released back on the streets and committed horrific crimes, including murder.
Waterloo- Senator Nozzolio recently congratulated Michelle Fridley for her participation in the annual Village of Waterloo Celebrate Commemorate event. Michelle was named Ms. Wheelchair New York State for 2010 for her advocacy on behalf of individuals with disabilities.

Waterloo - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented Louis "Lou" Lebrun of Waterloo with a special New York State Resolution that was adopted in the State Senate to acknowledge his dedication and commitment to the Waterloo community. Lou also received the Henry C. Welles Award from the Waterloo Library and Historical Society.

Waterloo- At the annual Celebrate Commemorate Ceremony, Senator Mike Nozzolio had the opportunity to meet Changhee Lee, senior Valedictorian at Waterloo High School and a trumpeter in the school band. Originally from South Korea, Changhee recently became a United States citizen. He played an amazing and heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem at the Waterloo Memorial Day service. Changhee will graduate in June and plans to attend the Eastman School of Music in the Fall.
Waterloo- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the annual Celebrate Commemorate Ceremony in observance of Memorial Day. Senator Nozzolio acknowledged our veterans for the countless sacrifices they have made to protect our freedom and defend our nation.

Auburn - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently participated in the "Healing Field-Field of Hopes and Dreams" flag memorial ceremony at Hoopes Park in Auburn. Proceeds from the event will benefit St. Joseph's School in Auburn. Over 1,000 American Flags were flown to honor the memory of a fallen soldier or to recognize an individual currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Seneca Falls - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently attended the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority bus naming ceremony for Seneca Transit Service. The newly named buses were unveiled to bear the names of seven employees’ children and grandchildren in the Seneca Transit Service area.
Geneva - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented special Certificates of Recognition to members of the Geneva Junior Girl Scout Troop 389 who earned the Girl Scout Bronze Award. The award, the highest honor a Junior Girl Scout can achieve, was presented at the Girl Scout annual award ceremony in Geneva.
Senator Nozzolio honored U.S. Navy, Naval Reserve and Army Reserve veteran Rick Connors of Seneca Falls for his distinguished military career, in which he served for 26 years and earned over 15 medals. Rick was inducted into the New York Senate Veterans Hall of Fame, a new website highlighting the service of a veteran from each Senate District, during a special ceremony at the State Capitol.
Geneva - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented Teresa Caravita of Geneva with a special New York State Resolution that was adopted in the State Senate congratulating the occasion of her 100th Birthday.

Lyons - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently attended the Rochester Genesee Regional Transportation Authority bus naming ceremony for Wayne Area Transportation Service. The newly named buses were unveiled to bear the names of eleven employees’ children and grandchildren in the Wayne Area Transportation Service area.
WATERLOO- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently stopped to congratulate the members of the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery board of directors and their volunteers on their very successful golf tournament. Proceeds from the event will benefit the cemetery. Senator Nozzolio helped to create the cemetery as a final and peaceful resting place, that will serve as a lasting, permanent memorial to those who answered the call of duty, and served their nation with honor and dignity.
Richard was born, raised and educated in Auburn, New York. He began his naval career in 1963 and served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserve for seven years, being honorably discharged in 1970 as a Gunners Mate 2nd Class.
In 1977, Rick joined the New York National Guard (1st of the 108th), where he served as Company Clerk and Supply Sergeant for five years.
In 1982, Rick transferred to the Army Reserves and for 14 years served as a Non-Commission Officer Instructor and a Training NCO. He retired as a G-7 SFC after 26 years of military service in 1997.
Palmyra - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently recognized responders from Manchester, Palmyra, Port Gibson, Wallington, and Macedon Fire Departments who assisted with the Palmyra VFW fire at their appreciation dinner. Senator Nozzolio expressed his deep gratitude for the exceptional heroism, and service they provided to the Palmyra VFW and local community.
