A Special Resolution Honoring Geneva Police Chief Frank Pane

Geneva - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently spoke at the annual Sons of Italy dinner where he presented Geneva Police Chief Frank Pane with a special New York State Resolution that was adopted in the New York State Senate honoring Chief Pane for his designation as Man of Honor by the Order of the Sons of Italy in America, Geneva Lodge 2397.

Seneca Falls - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently visited the 4th annual "Finger Lakes Works... with their hands", a local job fair that provided area students the opportunity to explore careers in various skilled trades and precision manufacturing. Senator Nozzolio met with representatives of OPTIMAX, a manufacturing company located in the town of Ontario specializing in precision optical components.

Senator Nozzolio Opposes NYSEG and RG&E Rate Increases

New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio announced today that he has called upon the Public Service Commission to deny any increase in rates for New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E). Last week, NYSEG and RG&E requested the Public Service Commission to approve substantial rate increases that would become effective as early as August 2010.

Geneva’s New Community Center Is Now Open

Senator Nozzolio Visits Butler Correctional Facility

Senator Nozzolio recently met with the staff and administrators of the Butler Minimum Security Prison to celebrate the news that the Butler facility would not be closing on October 1st as originally planned.

Under New York State law that Senator Nozzolio authored and had enacted, the Department of Corrections cannot close a prison facility without a mandatory 12 month notification process and legislative oversight. Butler was one of seven facilities slated to close this October without the legally required 12 month notification process.
