Honoring Dave Lyon For Over 36 Years Of Public Service

Palmyra - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented a special New York State Resolution that he enacted in the New York State Senate to honor Palmyra Supervisor David Lyon. David served Wayne County residents for over 36 years, 18 years as Town Councilman and 18 years as Town Supervisor.

William Casey Presented With Purple Heart

A Brighter Future: The 51st State

New York State is currently in the midst of its worst economic downturn since the Great Depression. Double digit unemployment, unbearable taxes and declining business investment have been driving residents out of New York State in record numbers. Upstate New York has lost more residents than any other region in the United States and the exodus of our young people has been alarming.

New York State Pension Checks Delayed In Post Office

Seneca Falls- New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio criticized the State Comptroller's Office for their failure to ensure that more than 60,000 New York State Pension checks were received on time.

The pension checks, which had been issued by the New York State Comptroller’s Office, were given to the Post Office for delivery on December 30th. The Post Office has since acknowledged that many of the checks were lost or misplaced.

Five years ago, the President of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Mark Gearan and I worked hard to create a research and educational center where a concerted effort could be made to promote, protect and preserve the Finger Lakes and their expansive and sensitive watersheds.

We were inspired with a simple vision: to establish an institute that would provide our region’s policy makers, educators, residents, and students with the tools that would allow us to protect New York’s priceless natural resources known as the Finger Lakes.

Recognizing Outstanding Achievement By Two William Smith College Coaches

Geneva - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently honored two Hobart & William Smith athletic coaches for their records of achievement. Senator Nozzolio presented New York State Senate Resolutions to Pat Genovese of Geneva who was recently inducted into the U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Sally Scatton of Trumansburg who will be inducted into the National Field Hockey Association Hall of Fame in January.

Recognizing A Valued Public Servant’s Retirement, Supervisor Jimmy Fabino

Lyons - Senator Mike Nozzolio and Assemblyman Bob Oaks recently presented a special New York State Resolution honoring Jimmy Fabino in recognition of his service for the past 24 years as the Supervisor for the Town of Lyons and more than 50 years of distinguished public service. Senator Nozzolio also recognized Supervisor Fabino with a New York State flag that had been flown over the State Capitol in Albany.

Special New York State Resolution For Geneva Red Wings Manager

Rochester - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented Dave Herbst with a special Resolution enacted in the New York State Senate upon Dave’s designation as recipient of the Richard Warboys Special Humanitarian Award by the Rochester Boxing Hall of Fame. Dave’s lifelong connection to sports also includes ownership and management of the Geneva Red Wings.

Recognizing The Dedication Of Our Public Servants

Lodi - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently recognized Lodi Town Clerk Lois Jennings and Lodi Tax Collector, Marty David for their many years of public service to the Town of Lodi. Senator Nozzolio presented Lois with a special New York State Senate Resolution commemorating 48 years of dedicated service.
