Senator Nozzolio Announces $76,000 Energy Efficiency Grant For Currier Plastics In Auburn

Auburn – State Senator Michael Nozzolio announced today that the Currier Plastics Company in Auburn is the recipient of a $76,000 State grant to make their facilities more energy efficient. The funding, administered through the New York State Power Authority, will allow the company to upgrade their existing lighting with new energy efficient lighting. “Currier Plastics has long set the standard for service and quality in the molding industry and is an important component of our regional economy,” said Senator Nozzolio.

Nozzolio: Thruway Toll Hikes Would Devastate Local Upstate Economy

Albany – Responding to reports of a proposal to increase Thruway tolls, State Senator Michael Nozzolio today called on New York State Thruway Authority Chairman John Buono to immediately reject any increase in tolls on the Thruway. “Any plan by the Thruway Authority to raise tolls on the Thruway should be rejected immediately,” said Senator Nozzolio. “The residents and business owners in our region cannot afford an increase in tolls, which would be a significant tax increase for New York state residents.

High School Athletic Association Policy Unfairly Punishes Armed Services Recruits

Albany – New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio is calling upon the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHAA) to revise current regulations so that high school football players who join the armed services are not unfairly punished when their military requirements keep them from participating in summer football practices.Current regulations state that high school athletes must sit out the first three games of the football season if they do not participate in a minimum number of summer practices.

Senator Nozzolio Delivers $50,000 For Village Of Palmyra

Palmyra— State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio announced today that he has secured $50,000 in state funding for the Village of Palmyra to build a boat launch on the Canal. Nozzolio Announces $20,000 Grant For Village Of Port Byron

Auburn—State Senator Michael Nozzolio announced today that the Village of Port Byron is the recipient of a $20,000 grant to help facilitate several energy-efficiency projects at the Municipal Building, the Department of Public Works, the Fire House and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. “All of the buildings and plants will undergo retrofitted lighting improvements that will save the Village 25 percent a year in electric bills,” Senator Nozzolio said.

Senator Nozzolio Achieves State Approval To Provide Funding To Rebuild Haiti Island Bridge

Mentz – New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio announced today that he has identified state funding to construct a new permanent bridge for residents of Haiti Island in the town of Mentz. The funding will come from a previously approved capital transportation fund. At the end of July, a significant portion of the original Haiti Island Bridge collapsed and fell into the Seneca River. That collapse prompted the immediate closure of the bridge and as a result, all vehicle traffic has been suspended.
