Senator Nozzolio Celebrates Pal-Mac Youth Baseball 60th Season

Palmyra-Macedon – New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio recently participated in the opening day ceremonies for the Pal-Mac Youth Baseball Organization, where he threw the first pitch of the game. Also attending the game was Tom Warner, a former Palmyra little leaguer who went on to play Division I baseball at Le Moyne College and is now baseball coach at Skaneateles High School.

Albany- Senator Michael F. Nozzolio and Assemblyman Robert C. Oaks are demanding that the Department of Corrections, the Attorney General’s office and the Comptroller's office reexamine Governor Paterson's proposal to close the Butler Minimum Security prison in Wayne County. The State Legislators are also calling for an investigation by the New York State Attorney General and Comptroller to determine if the appropriate legal process was applied for the proposed closure.

Senate Republicans Fight to Keep Prisons Open

The New York Senate Republican Conference today introduced an amendment that would to keep three minimum security prisons in Upstate New York operating. Under the budget agreement announced by Governor Paterson, Speaker Silver, and Senator Smith, Camp Gabriels in Franklin County, Mt. McGregor in Saratoga County, and Camp Pharsalia in Chenango County would be closed without the required twelve month notice required by law.

The closure of the prisons would result in the loss of over 300 jobs in Upstate New York. Senate Democrats voted to defeat the amendment.

Senator Nozzolio and Girl Scout Troop 1410 to Honor Sgt. Robert Reis III of Macedon

Macedon-New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio recently joined members of the Girl Scout Troop 1410 to honor Sgt. Robert Reis III of Macedon. As a part of the Scout's service project, the troop "adopted" Sgt. Reis III to send messages, cards and remembrances throughout his tour of Iraq. Sgt. Reis III and members of his platoon recently met with the members of the Girl Scout to express their gratitude.

Senator Nozzolio Sworn in to Office

New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio was recently sworn in to office by former Lt. Governor Mary Anne Krupsak. Senator Nozzolio was overwhelmingly re-elected in November with over 72% of the vote in his district. Senator Nozzolio thanked the approximately 350 people who attended the ceremony for their support and the honor to represent their needs as a member of the New York State Senate. Senator Nozzolio was sworn in using the same Bible that was used when Lt. Governor Krupsak took her oath of office in 1975.

Waterloo – New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio was recently honored by the New York Beef Producers Association with their “Friend in Government” award in recognition of his strong support of agriculture jobs in the Finger Lakes region.
