Albany - In an effort to provide additional property tax relief for senior citizens, New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio and his colleagues in the State Senate have passed legislation (S.6417) to double the size of direct property tax rebate checks for senior citizen homeowners this year, returning about $200 million to New York’s senior citizens. In addition, the legislation would eliminate, starting next year, the means test that requires homeowners to apply for the rebate this year.
Webster– State Senator Michael Nozzolio will be hosting a day of baseball with the Webster Yankees this Sunday, July 22nd at the Webster Thomas High School Baseball Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00pm when the Yankees take on the Niagara Falls Power.
Free tickets will be available at the game and the public is encouraged to attend. Due to limited bleacher seating, all those attending the game are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Webster Thomas High School is located at 800 Five Mile Line Road.
Albany – Continuing his aggressive efforts to preserve and protect the water quality of Owasco Lake, State Senator Michael Nozzolio haslaunched an online petition drive to allow New Yorkers to register their opposition to the recent decision by the State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to allow the Village of Groton to increase the amount of phosphorous discharged into Owasco Lake.
Auburn – New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio today delivered a $60,000 state grant to fund the position of a lake steward to help oversee the protection of Owasco Lake. Senator Nozzolio was joined by officials from the City of Auburn and Cayuga County to make the announcement at a community meeting held at Emerson Park pavilion.“The creation of a lake steward is a significant piece of our on-going efforts to clean-up Owasco Lake,” said Senator Nozzolio.

Albany – New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio today called for the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to wholeheartedly reject weakening the current restrictions on the amount of phosphorous the Village of Groton can discharge into Owasco Lake. Senator Nozzolio stated his firm opposition to the proposal in a letter to DEC Commissioner Pete Grannis.“Allowing increased amounts of phosphorous into Owasco Lake would absolutely halt the progress that has been made this year to clean up the lake,” said Senator Nozzolio.

Albany - State Senator Michael Nozzolio has announced that the New York Senate has approved legislation he is sponsoring that would transfer land at the former Sampson Naval and Air Force Base to Seneca County. The land has been designated as the location of a world class Veterans Cemetery. Hundreds of thousands of brave men and women began their military service at the former Sampson Base during World War II. “The Senate's approval of this legislation is a major step forward in making the dream of the Veterans Cemetery a reality,” said Senator Nozzolio.
