Auburn- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently visited Emmi’s Realty where he presented a special New York State Resolution honoring the late Salvatore “Sam” Emmi for his contributions to the community. Sam served as an officer with the Auburn Police Department for 28 years and was also the owner and operator of Emmi Realty for more than 30 years.

Canandaigua- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently met with the Board of Directors of the Partnership for Ontario County to discuss their important work in providing essential services to children and their families in Ontario County. The Partnership provides educational support as well as other programs to help individuals achieve their fullest potential.

Canandaigua- Senator Mike Nozzolio and Assemblyman Brian Kolb recently presented a special New York State Proclamation to the members of the Canandaigua Sportsmen Club in recognition of the Club's 100th year anniversary. Senator Nozzolio has been a consistent and strong supporter of sportsmen’s rights in New York State.

Lyons- Senator Mike Nozzolio and Assemblyman Bob Oaks recently joined local elected officials and members of the community at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Senator Nozzolio and Assemblyman Oaks presented a special New York State Resolution honoring Patrice Bullock for her designation as the recipient of the LeadingAge New York 2014 Long Term Care Employee of Distinction. Patrice is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Wayne County Nursing Home where she plays a vital role as a Care Coordinator and Discharge planner for the Rehab unit. The Wayne County Nursing Home also received the “Innovation of the Year” award from LeadingAge New York.

Rochester- Senator Mike Nozzolio was recently the featured speaker at the 74th annual Italian Civic League luncheon where he shared his family’s story about his grandparents and father leaving their homeland in Italy to build a better life for their family by immigrating to America. Senator Nozzolio also recognized several individuals for their efforts to preserve the rich traditions, culture, and heritage of Italian Americans. The Italian Civic League of Rochester was founded in 1932, and serves as a forum for the Italian organizations in Rochester to share ideas, communicate on issues affecting all organizations.
Auburn- Senator Mike Nozzolio was recently the guest speaker for the Cultural Italian American Organization of Cayuga County Columbus Day dinner. Senator Nozzolio presented special New York State Resolutions to Jack Bisgrove, Jerry Bisgrove and Matteo Bartolotta for their time, effort and support of the Cayuga County community. The Cultural Italian American Organization of Cayuga County is a newly formed organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing the Italian-American heritage and culture.
On this day we honor the vision, commitment and courage of Christopher Columbus…but in so doing, we indeed honor the courageous actions of those who brought their Italian culture…along with their families… to seek the American dream and all that is the best of our Nation.
We gain inspiration by the personal story of Christopher Columbus. We all know of his significant struggles, and great achievement.
Seneca Falls- Senator Nozzolio recently attended the St. Anthony’s Italian Festival in Seneca Falls where he acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the hundreds of volunteers that help to make this annual event such a success. The local festival not only draws local people but it brings in visitors from throughout the Finger Lakes region who enjoy the food and camaraderie that the festival creates. These individuals often return to the area to support the local restaurants and vendors who supply the food and entertainment for the event.

Senator Mike Nozzolio will be the featured speaker at three Italian-American organization events over the upcoming Columbus Day weekend.
On Saturday evening, the Sons of Italy in Geneva will hold their annual dinner dance. The Italian Civic League of Rochester will be gathering for their 74th annual luncheon, and the newly formed Cultural Italian American Organization of Cayuga County will be hosting their first recognition dinner on Columbus Day. Senator Nozzolio will be recognizing several individuals at each event for their efforts to preserve the rich traditions, culture, and heritage of Italian Americans.
Geneva- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented Michael Scaglione with a special New York State Resolution recognizing his designation by the St. Anthony Italian Festival Commission as the recipient of the 2014 Father Beatini Memorial Award. The Father Beatini Memorial Award is given out annually to a citizen of Italian heritage that has contributed to their community and has furthered the Italian culture and heritage.

Encourages Victims of Domestic Violence to Register for SAVIN and Pushes For Enactment of “Brittany’s Law – The Domestic Violence Prevention Act”
Continuing his aggressive efforts to protect victims and raise awareness of violence against women and children, State Senator Mike Nozzolio is recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and is encouraging victims of domestic violence to register to receive life saving alerts through the Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification Network (SAVIN).
Port Byron- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently presented a special New York State Resolution honoring Gino Alberici’s 34 years of dedicated service as a Social Studies teacher in the Port Byron Central School District and he was also the Head Coach of the Port Byron High School football team for over 32 years. Last year, the Port Byron Central School District honored Gino Alberici by naming the field after their long-time coach. Senator Nozzolio also helped to secure the necessary funding to purchase a new scoreboard which bears Gino Alberici’s name.

Auburn- Senator Mike Nozzolio recently joined Senator Jim Seward, Assemblyman Bob Oaks, and Assemblyman Gary Finch at the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce legislative breakfast. Senator Nozzolio provided members with an update on some of the key issues facing the State Senate this year. Senator Nozzolio discussed his recommendation that the State use the $3.3 billion settlement from a French Bank to totally eliminate the Gap Elimination Adjustment (GEA), fund critically important road and infrastructure improvements and further reduce the tax burden on New York's overburdened taxpayers.
Measure Pushed by Senate Democrats Would Become Law if Conference is Handed Keys to the Chamber:
Senator Mike Nozzolio today vowed to lead the fight and vote against radical legislation sponsored by New York City Democrat Gustavo Rivera and State Senate Democrats that would give illegal immigrants the right to vote and hold office in New York State.
Senator Nozzolio called the measure "an insult to law-abiding New Yorkers and a drain on the tax dollars of hardworking people."
