Waterloo- New York State Senator Mike Nozzolio today reiterated his strong support for Seneca County District Attorney Barry Porsch and Investigator Jeff Arnold's efforts to utilize new touch DNA technology to solve the 25 year old murder case of Kristin O'Connell.

The newest proposal forced through by Governor Paterson and the New York City Democrat legislators to increase taxes and collect the sales tax on cigarettes sold by Native Americans does little to enhance the State’s ability to collect the tax. It does however, contain tax hikes and several legal loopholes that have the potential to make this proposal very dangerous and a threat to Cayuga and Seneca counties.

Growing up in a working class family with Mom, Dad, and my two brothers, we didn’t have the best of everything. We did, however, learn very early how to stretch a dollar and the value of hard work and sacrifice.

NY-Alert is a service offered by New York State to provide individuals with real-time information about emergencies and other important issues. Using the NY-Alert System, residents can sign up to receive alerts about any of the following:

• Alerts and warnings about life threatening emergencies

• Public health alerts

• Severe weather warnings

• Significant highway closures
