A Return To Common Sense

Growing up in a working class family with mom, dad, and my two brothers, we didn’t have the best of everything. We did, however, learn very early how to stretch a dollar and the value of hard work and sacrifice. We never felt deprived. When times were tough, my parents, especially my mother, who was the money manager of the family, taught us invaluable and common sense lessons about ways to save money.

New York State could take a lesson from my mother. Times are tough in New York State and it's time to use common sense when it comes to state spending.

New York City Legislators Attempt to Force Farm Labor Bill

Albany- Just three weeks after the disastrous Farm Labor Bill was defeated by the New York State Senate's Committee on Agriculture, virtually the same bill has been reintroduced by New York City legislators, in an attempt to force onerous work regulations onto Upstate New York farmers.

Senator Nozzolio, who adamantly opposed this measure when it was introduced just weeks ago, has indicated that he will continue his opposition to this bill which has been reintroduced without a single meaningful change.

New York State Pension Checks Delayed In Post Office

Seneca Falls- New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio criticized the State Comptroller's Office for their failure to ensure that more than 60,000 New York State Pension checks were received on time.

The pension checks, which had been issued by the New York State Comptroller’s Office, were given to the Post Office for delivery on December 30th. The Post Office has since acknowledged that many of the checks were lost or misplaced.

Senator Nozzolio Opposes NYSEG and RG&E Rate Increases

New York State Senator Michael Nozzolio announced today that he has called upon the Public Service Commission to deny any increase in rates for New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E).
