Alpina Foods opens first yogurt plant in Batavia

Batava, N.Y. - Senator Ranzenhofer joins Alpina Foods' leadership, Empire State Development Corporation CEO Ken Adams, and other elected officials for a ground-breaking ceremony at the company's first manufacturing facility in the United States. The $20 million factory currently employes 30 people, with another 20 more jobs expected in the next few months.

Ranzenhofer donates items to MHA clothing store

Batavia, N.Y. – State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer stops by the Mental Health Association in Genesee County to donate items to the social club’s clothing store. 

Donations provide professional attire for re-entry into the workforce and opportunities for members to learn workforce skills, such as customer service and inventory.  New or gently used clothing items may be donated to the clothing store at 25 Liberty Street, Monday thru Friday during business hours.  For more information, call the Mental Health Association in Genesee County at (585) 344-2611.

Ranzenhofer celebrates Purple Heart "Forever" Stamp

Batavia, N.Y. – State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer presents a poster, commemorating the introduction of the Purple Heart stamp as a Forever stamp, to Genesee County Veterans Director Hal Kreter and Purple Heart recipients.  The United States Postal Service officially unveiled and issued the Purple Heart Forever stamp on May 5 in San Diego, California.

Ranzenhofer celebrates Purple Heart "Forever" stamp

Clarence, N.Y. – State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer presents a poster, commemorating the introduction of the Purple Heart stamp as a Forever stamp, to members of the Clarence American Legion –  Post 838.  The United States Postal Service officially unveiled and issued the Purple Heart Forever stamp yesterday in San Diego, California. 

In 2009, Senator Ranzenhofer wrote to Postmaster General John Potter and co-sponsored a legislative resolution requesting the U.S. Postal Service issue the Purple Heart stamp as a permanent Forever stamp.  The new classification ensures the Purple Heart stamp will continue in circulation and supporters will no longer need to advocate to for its reissue each time the price of stamps increases.
