NY Farm Bureau honors Razenhofer in 'Circle of Friends'

The New York Farm Bureau has honored State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer with the ‘Circle of Friends’ Legislative Award for the 2009 Legislative Session.

“It is an honor to be recognized in the Farm Bureau’s ‘Circle of Friends’ and it is a pleasure to represent many farms and agri-businesses in our community.  As a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, I will continue to work with my colleagues in Albany and with the members of my Agricultural Advisory Committee to protect the future generations of our local farms,” said Senator Ranzenhofer.

Public Hearing set for Farm Labor Death Bill

Albany, NY – The State Senate Agriculture Committee has set a public hearing on the Farm Labor Death Bill for Monday, March 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Hearing Room A of the Legislative Office Building.

“The public hearing is an open, transparent way to conduct the people’s business. While I strongly oppose the proposed legislation, I am looking forward to listening to both sides of the issue,” said Senator Ranzenhofer.

Statement on 'Farm Labor Death Bill'

Albany, NY –  State Senator Mike Ranzenhofer and his colleagues led the effort to defeat the Farm Labor Death Bill earlier this morning.  The State Senate Agriculture Committee has voted down Senate Bill No. 2247 by a six to three vote, preventing the legislation from moving to the Senate floor for a vote or being released to another committee for consideration.
