Amherst, NY – State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer has announced today that he will host a Family Health Fair on Saturday, August 4th from 9 a.m. to noon at the Amherst Senior Center, 370 John James Audubon Parkway.
The 2013-14 State Budget fully funds the EPIC prescription drug program, helping 270,000 seniors with the high costs of their prescription drugs. The State Budget also delivers $912 million in property tax relief to senior homeowners as part of the Enhanced STAR program.
As your State Senator, helping older Western New Yorkers pay for the soaring costs of prescription drugs is, and always will be, a priority. In fact, one of my proudest accomplishments in recent years was restoring funding to New York’s Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage (EPIC) program.
EPIC is a New York State cost-sharing program that helps eligible seniors pay for their prescription drugs. The program has been recognized as one of the best low-cost prescription drug programs in the nation. Currently, more than a quarter of a million EPIC members are saving, on average, 90 percent of the costs of their medicines.
