New York State Rural Schools Association Bestows “Appreciation Award” To WNY Senator At Annual Conference in Cooperstown
COOPERSTOWN, NY -- Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) was honored Monday with the New York State Rural Schools Association “Appreciation Award” for his advocacy and leadership on behalf of the rural schools and students of New York State. The New York State Rural Schools Association presented the award to Gallivan Monday night at their annual conference at the Otesaga Resort in Cooperstown, NY.

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) announced today that he has secured state funding to employ a School Resource Officer (SRO) at five Erie County school districts beginning in the 2013-14 academic year.
The program is being administered in cooperation with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, which will provide a Sheriff’s Deputy to serve as the SRO on a rotating basis at Iroquois Central School District, Alden Central School District, Springville-Griffith Institute Central School District, North Collins Central School District and Holland Central School District.

ERIE COUNTY - State Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) announced today that he is proposing a new school voucher program to provide funds to school districts to be used exclusively for the hiring of School Resource Officers (SRO).
The Catholic Diocese of Buffalo’s primary education system is an integral part of our community’s past, its present and its future. As the Diocese implements its restructuring plan, New York State should be a partner in trying to alleviate some of the burden potentially affecting thousands of families across Western New York. As a supporter of public and private education, I have sponsored the “education investment incentives act,” which provides tax credits for individuals and parents who donate to a host of different educational advancement organizations that support public, private or home-schooled students. The Senate has passed this legislation several times and I believe it carries the requisite support in the Assembly for passage.
