Senator Gallivan Announces Passage of Legislation to Help Farmers

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) and Assemblymember Harry B. Bronson (D-Rochester/Chili/Henrietta) announce the passage of legislation (S.71A & A.2458A) that requires landowners receive notice and a copy of the application when any portion of a gas or electric line is to be installed. Notice must also be served on landowners when any portion of a major utility transmission building is to be constructed. The bill also requires that the Public Service Commission consider specific factors when determining the effect the facility would have on agricultural lands.

Senator Gallivan Announces Senate Passes Bill to Allow Moose Hunting in NY

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) announces the Senate has passed a bill (S-93A) that would allow the hunting of moose in New York State.  The legislation would amend current environmental conservation law to regulate the taking of moose in the same manner as deer hunting.

Bob Harder

Bob Harder entered the Air Force after high school in 1965. Following Basic Training at Lackland AFB, Texas, he was stationed at Chanute AFB Rantoul, Illinois, where he trained as an Aircraft Electrician. After a short appointment at Homestead AFB, Florida, Mr. Harder was deployed to Vietnam, where he was stationed at the base at Tuy Hoa which was still under construction. While there, Mr. Harder worked as an aircraft electrician and his tour of duty lasted one year.

Free Electronics Recycling Event June 13 at Geneseo High School

Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma), Sunnking, Time Warner Cable and the Geneseo Central Earthwise Club announce a free electronics recycling on Saturday, June 13.  Residents can drop-off and properly dispose of electronic devices free of charge between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Geneseo High School at 4050 Avon Road in Geneseo.

Senator Gallivan Names Livingston County Resident 'Woman of Distinction'

Senator Gallivan Introduces SRO Officer at Wheatland-Chili Central School District

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) met Friday, April 24, with Wheatland-Chili Central School Superintendent Deborah Leh, Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn and School Resource Officer Laura Michaels, a Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy. Funding secured by Gallivan in last year’s state budget made it possible for the school district to establish a School Resource Officer (SRO) program in February.  In collaboration with the County of Monroe and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the program will continue through the end of the 2014-2015 school year.

Senate Passes Bill to Eliminate the Use of Back Tags for Hunters

Senator Patrick M. Gallivan (R-C-I, Elma) announced the Senate has passed a bill (S-92) that will eliminate a requirement that hunters display and wear back tags while hunting in New York State.  The legislation would amend environmental conservation law and eliminate confusion over hunting requirements.
