Visits With Staff, Patients, Board of Visitors While Touring Trinity Building

State Senator Patty Ritchie toured the Trinity building at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center recently to discuss the state’s mental health services to Northern New York communities.

Over the course of the morning, she met with the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center's Board of Visitors, spoke to top staff and administrators, visited wards, program areas and recreational facilities.

State Senator Patty Ritchie along with the Jefferson County Office for the Aging invites the community to her 2011 Senior Health and Wellness Expo on Sept. 14 at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds on Coffeen Street in Watertown.

“The Senior Health and Wellness Expo will provide a one stop experience for people who want to meet and talk to health care professionals,” Senator Ritchie said. “Whether you want to check your blood pressure, get tips on how to keep fit, or get free health screenings, this event will help you preserve your health.”

RITCHIE MEETS WITH LOCAL LEADERS ON ST. LAWRENCE PSYCHIATRIC CENTER

State Senator Patty Ritchie met with community leaders and union representatives about their plans to advocate on behalf of the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center at the New York State Office of Mental Health Listening Tour on May 15th  at the facility’s Unity Center.

The group is urging supporters of the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center to register to attend the public meeting that will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m on May 15th.  Those wishing to sign up to speak may do so here.

State Senator Patty Ritchie will deliver more than 2,000 signatures and statements in support of St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center to Albany officials at Wednesday’s listening session to be held at the facility.

The signatures and stories were collected via www.savethecenter.org, a website Senator Ritchie created to allow people to sign her petition as well as share news and updates on the center.
