RITCHIE SERVES UP FOOD, FUN AT ANNUAL SENIOR PICNIC

State Senator Patty Ritchie joined senior citizens in St. Lawrence County recently, waiting on tables and visiting with community members at the annual Senior Picnic, held at the Madrid Community Park.

The event—which featured games, music and food—was sponsored by the Council of Senior Citizens and Office for the Aging.

CALLING ALL SENIORS: RITCHIE ANNOUNCES HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIRS

First Event to Take Place September 11th at Watertown Fairgrounds Arena

State Senator Patty Ritchie will offer area seniors tips for living healthy, active lifestyles at her annual Jefferson County Senior Health and Wellness Fair, taking place at the Watertown Fairgrounds Arena on September 11, 2013.

The free event—which runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.—will feature dozens of local organizations as well as lunch and entertainment by the Country Stompers, both sponsored by Senator Ritchie.

“I am thrilled to once again be able to host this annual event, which is something that area seniors truly look forward to,” said Senator Ritchie.   

“Whether you want to check your blood pressure, find new ways to improve your diet, get a flu shot or learn about local organizations that can help improve your well-being, this event is a one stop shop for learning how to get and stay healthy.”

Last year, nearly 2,000 seniors attended Senator Ritchie’s Health and Wellness Fairs held in Jefferson, Oswego and St. Lawrence Counties.

MORE THAN 1,000 ATTEND RITCHIE SENIOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIR

More than 1,000 people attended State Senator Patty Ritchie’s annual Senior Health and Wellness Fair, held this week at the Watertown Fairgrounds Arena. 

The free event featured more than 65 local organizations offering health screenings, flu shots and other tips for living a healthy lifestyle.  Lunch and entertainment by the Country Stompers—both sponsored by Senator Ritchie—were also provided.

RITCHIE TO HOST OSWEGO COUNTY SENIOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIR OCTOBER 9TH

Event to Feature More than 50 Exhibitors

State Senator Patty Ritchie will offer area seniors tips for living healthy, active lifestyles at her annual Oswego County Senior Health and Wellness Fair, taking place at the Fulton War Memorial on October 9th.

Earlier this month, more than 1,000 people attended Senator Ritchie’s Jefferson County Senior Health and Wellness Fair. In addition to her Jefferson and Oswego County events, Senator Ritchie will also host a Senior Health and Wellness Fair in St. Lawrence County on October 23rd.

MORE THAN 300 PEOPLE ATTEND RITCHIE’S OSWEGO COUNTY SENIOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIR

More than 300 people packed the Fulton War Memorial Wednesday to take part in State Senator Patty Ritchie’s Oswego County Senior Health and Wellness Fair. 

Seniors in attendance had the opportunity access free tips and tools for living a healthy and active lifestyle from more than 50 local organizations in attendance.  A free lunch, made possible by Pathfinder Bank, Hudsons' Dairy, Ontario Orchards, Behling Orchards, Dunkin’ Donuts  and prepared by BOCES students was also provided. Transportation was sponsored by Entergy.

“I’m thrilled that so many seniors were able to attend Wednesday’s event, which featured everything from free flu shots to giveaways,” said Senator Ritchie. “This event is truly a one stop shop for any senior who is looking to access more information about improving their well-being.”

LONGTIME COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER LOUISE KELLOGG NAMED RITCHIE'S OSWEGO “SENIOR OF THE YEAR”

Louise Kellogg to be Honored at Wednesday’s Senior Health and Wellness Fair  

State Senator Patty Ritchie is announcing that she will honor longtime community volunteer Louise Kellogg with her Oswego County “Senior of the Year” award at the Senior Health and Wellness Fair, taking place at the Fulton War Memorial on Wednesday.

A volunteer since 1985, Louise has logged more than 4,000 volunteer hours.  She volunteers regularly at Meadowbrook Manor, the Hannibal Senior Nutrition site, the Hannibal American Legion as well as a number of other organizations. 

“Louise is a great example of what it means to truly be part of a community,” said Senator Ritchie.   “Her dedication to serving others is remarkable, and I’m glad to have the opportunity to honor her as my Oswego County “Senior of the Year” at Wednesday’s event.”
