These are just a few of the places I have visited as part of my “Where You Work” tour; an effort to meet with local employers and seek ways to promote local job growth throughout Central and Northern New York.
State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced that 64 employers have signed-on for her Job and Career Fair, which will be held on Wednesday September 19th in Ogdensburg at the Odd Fellows Hall on Linden Street from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Plans to Focus on Upstate Economic Development Included in State of the State Address
State Senator Patty Ritchie is applauding Governor Andrew Cuomo’s call for building on the progress of the past two years to create more jobs and continue economic growth, following Wednesday’s State of the State address in Albany.
“In 2013, my focus is jobs, and I was thrilled to hear that Governor Cuomo is making that one of his priorities as well,” said Senator Ritchie.
“We have made some great strides recently when it comes to getting our state’s economy back on track, but there’s a lot more we can do. I’m eager to get to work and continue to collaborate with the Governor and my fellow colleagues in an effort to put more New Yorkers back to work.”
Attendees Connect With Nearly 40 Employers Looking to Hire
More than 250 job seekers packed the Fulton War Memorial Thursday for State Senator Patty Ritchie’s 3rd annual Oswego County Job Fair.
Those in attendance were able to connect with nearly 40 local employers—many of which are looking to hire—and access tips on everything from interview techniques to how to improve your online job search.
Senate Passes Ritchie Cosponsored Measure to Stop Welfare Recipients
From Using EBT Cards on Alcohol, Lotto Tickets, Casino Gambling
State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced a measure she cosponsored to prohibit welfare recipients from using their Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Cards on items such as cigarettes, alcoholic beverages and lottery tickets or casino gambling, has passed the State Senate.
“EBT cards are intended to help people who have fallen on hard times afford the necessities. But, when these cards are used to purchase things like smokes, booze or lottery tickets, it’s a major waste of taxpayer money” said Senator Ritchie.
