Michael Plummer

Colonel Michael Plummer served in the Army for over 31 years, in various assignments throughout the US and overseas. Most notably, he served in the Vietnam War, as Chief of Staff for the 82nd Airborne in Ft. Bragg North Carolina, and oversaw 15,000 soldiers as Assistant Division Commander at Ft. Drum. As part of a planning cell tasked with finding a home for a new light infantry division, Plummer played an important role in bringing the 10th Mountain Division to Northern NY. He retired from the Army in 1991, he received a number of accolades for his service, including the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

FULTON’S JAN REBEOR NAMED SENATE’S 2012 'WOMAN OF DISTINCTION'

State Senator Patty Ritchie announced today that she’s named Fulton’s Jan Rebeor as a 2012 “Woman of Distinction.” 

Mrs. Rebeor, a life-long resident of Oswego County who survived a bout with cancer, was selected from nearly a dozen individuals nominated by friends, family members and community leaders throughout Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence Counties. Senator Ritchie will fete all of the nominees at a special reception in Watertown on June 7.

Jan Rebeor

Jan Rebeor is a lifelong resident of Oswego County. A retiree from Ed Vayner & Associates, she graduated from Oswego High School and obtained her associate’s degree in business from Central City Business Institute in 1961.

In the spring of 1999, Mrs. Rebeor received a diagnosis of Stage 3 breast cancer, which she credits with changing her outlook on life. She appreciates and enjoys every moment that she has with her husband, children and grandchildren. According to Mrs. Rebeor, she is “trying now to live the life I’m living, giving what I can back to the community I live in, and being out there enjoying people.”
