“The action of the Senate Democratic Majority in recent months – for example, addressing issues in a bipartisan way, creating green jobs, controlling spending and preserving important resources for education – has demonstrated our commitment to the state’s 19.5 million residents.
“The Governor’s budget frames the multi-year fiscal challenge that faces all New York residents. Obviously, we all have to learn to do more with less. Government, in particular, must control spending. At the same time, we must be creative and practical and work together to help those who have been hit hardest by this economic crisis.
New York State Senate Finance Committee Chair Carl Kruger and Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair Herman “Denny” Farrell will conduct a joint budget hearing to examine the Governor’s proposed budget relating to the development and preservation of housing across the state.
When: February 3 @ 1 P.M.
Where: Hearing Room B – Legislative Office Building
Expected to Testify NYS Division of Housing & Community Renewal: Brian Lawlor, Acting Commissioner
