Special Needs Workshop:  How to Protect Your Child Legally and Financially

To educate seniors about the increasingly common issue of scamming, Senator Boyle will be hosting a Senior Scam Prevention Forum in conjunction with the NYS Department of State to inform seniors about the danger of scams and ways in which they can be prevented. The Department Division of Consumer Protection will deliver a presentation about ways to avoid becoming the victim of a scam. According to the FBI, con artists are attracted to senior citizens because they have a “nest egg” – they tend to own their home, and/or to have excellent credit.

Senator Boyle believes that elected officials should be readily available to their constituents.  That’s why one of the first things he has done as a new State Senator is to create a "One on One With Your Senator" program.  These meetings provide constituents the opportunity to meet one on one with Senator Boyle in their own neighborhood to discuss concerns they have about government issues.

If you need assistance with government services, have questions about government programs, or would like to express concerns about a particular issue, Senator Boyle invites you to share them with him when he visits your neighborhood.

Senator Phil Boyle teamed up with the Bay Shore Boy Scout Troop 43 to host a food drive at the Shoprite of Bay Shore.  The non- perishable food items donated at the event will be distributed to those in need by Long Island Cares, Inc.

Gangs pose a dangerous and direct threat to our children, our schools and our community.

To help empower parents and combat the rise of gang activity, Senator Phil Boyle is partnering with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office to present an important workshop to increase awareness about the presence of gangs throughout our community.

The workshop will feature presentations that will inform parents and other community stakeholders about the range of gangs in our community, the signs and symbols used by gangs and ways to proactively prevent your child from joining a gang.

Robert Moses Beach Grass Planting

Sadly, Hurricane Sandy left behind a devastating impact on our local beaches.  Acres upon acres of our beaches are now threatened due to the erosion from the storm. That is why I am organizing this important beach planting event as summer nears.

The beach bayberry and beach plum plants will help stabilize and rebuild some of the sand dunes destroyed from Hurricane Sandy. In turn, the restored sand dunes will help provide a natural protection from future coastal storms.

Now its our turn to take action to restore some of what was lost last October. Please join me and your fellow Long Islanders at our first annual beach planting event on Saturday morning, May 4.

Senator Phil Boyle is partnering with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Alcohol and Substance Abuse Task Force and the Youth Enrichment Services program for an important community meeting to help increase awareness about the dangers associated with drug abuse and the growing heroin epidemic facing Long Island teens.
