Upcoming One-on-One with your Senator Programs

Senator Phil Boyle is bringing his o­ffice directly to constituents with his One-on-One with your Senator Program. Over the next several months he will be reaching out to communities across his district.

As part of the program, local residents who need assistance with government services, have questions about government programs, or would like to express concerns about a particular issue can share them with Senator Boyle in a one-on-one setting. 

Additionally, staff will be available to offer assistance to anyone who is interested in researching the State Comptroller’s data base for unclaimed funds.

Black History Month Award Recipients’ Biographies

James Cornigans

A native Long Islander, James Cornigans was born in 1947

and grew up in Bay Shore. Throughout his time at Bay Shore

High School, Mr. Cornigans worked various jobs including

delivering newspapers and stocking shelves at a grocery

store in order to earn money to pay for college.

After graduating from Bay Shore High School, he pursued

his higher education at the University of Dubuque in Iowa,

where he earned a degree in social studies and history. Once he completed his

college studies in 1969, he was hired to teach social studies in the Bay Shore

Middle School where he made his career for 34 years.
