Senate Legislation Would Create RESULTS NY Website To Increase Accountability Of State Government Agencies

The New York State Senate passed legislation (S.2233) to create a new website, ResultsNY.gov, that would enable the public to review the performance of government programs to see how effectively agencies are spending tax dollars.   People visiting the site could also submit their own suggestions and recommendations on how to stop government waste and reduce state spending.

Senate Gives Final Passage To Legislation To Protect OPWDD From Funding Cuts

The New York State Senate recently gave final passage to legislation (S4777D) that would protect providers of services for the developmentally disabled from state funding cuts.The legislation would appropriate up to $90 million, or as much as is needed, to the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to protect providers from funding reductions if recommended savings measures falls short of projections.
