Senator Boyle Hosts FREE Breast Cancer Screening

According to the National Breast Cancer foundation, Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. That is why Senator Phil Boyle is hosting a FREE Breast Cancer screening at the Lindenhurst Memorial Library.

Mammogram screenings are open to women 40 and older who have not been screened in the past year. Details of the event are below:

Thomas J. Heron II

Thomas Heron II joined the Marine Corps two weeks after graduating from Centereach High school. Thomas went to Paris Island for Boot Camp. At twenty-nine he enrolled in a communications school in Palms, California. He was assigned to 9th Communications Battalion and shortly after, volunteered to go to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, where he was deployed in the Western Pacific.

"I Love My Park Day" Cleanup

“I Love My Park Day” is an exciting statewide event, organized by Parks & Trails New York in partnership with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and local Friends groups, to celebrate and enhance New York’s parks and historic sites to bring visibility to the entire park system in need.

Volunteers will celebrate New York’s park system by cleaning up park lands and beaches, planting trees and gardens, restoring trails and wildlife habitat, removing invasive species, and working on various improvement projects. The details of Senator Boyle's park cleanup are below:

Senator Boyle and the Islip Chamber of Commerce Host Food Drive

It is a priority for Senator Boyle to work hard for those in need.   This trying winter weather coupled with high fuel costs has forced many more Long Islander’s to look for assistance to feed themselves and their families.  The local churches and food pantries across the Island are having a difficult time to meet this rising demand.
