Credit Where Credit is Due

You should know that Roberto Perez, who serves as Bill DeBlasio’s Chief Public Affairs Consultant just blasted an email boasting “De Blasio wins Latino Vote with 41%”.

He held sway among men (44%) and women (42%), whites (46%), blacks (44%) and Hispanics (41%), all the city's main religious communities and all age groups.”

Food Stamp Cuts Are Underway

You should know that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are scheduled to end on November 1st. In the United States Congress, efforts are underway to cut food stamps - $40 billion in cuts over the next decade. One Member of Congress, Rep. Stephen Fincher (R-Tenn.) who collected nearly $3.5 million in government farm subsidies from 1999-2012, defended his support for cutting food stamps by declaring: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”

Is it Racism, Discrimination, or Plain Ignorance?

You should know that the most recent Quinnipiac University Poll, led by their Director, Maurice Carroll, is getting away with something no one else could have gotten away with in New York City in 2013.

You should know that Quinnipiac’s Maurice Carroll has been conducting periodic polling about New York City’s candidates by likely Democratic voters, and lo and behold, his most recent results include statistics for voters who are men, voters who are women, White voters, and Black voters.

Is the NewYork City Council Going Nuts?

You should know that the New York City Council is about to take away the right of the New York City Police Department to refer to a perp description by approving a new law called “Intro 1080.”

I would like to put my two cents because as things stand, police reports include a physical description of alleged perpetrators including race, age, sex, or perceived disability.

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck - then it is probably a duck.

You should know that on August 9, 2013 Ken Lovett’s Daily News article, “Gov. Cuomo got $100,000 from developer, then signed law giving it big tax break” told how two days after Governor Andrew Cuomo’s campaign received donations of $100,000 from Extell Financial Services, the Governor signed a piece of legislation into law giving that developer – and four other developers a huge tax break. Huge!

It’s About Time to Bring WalMart to the City

You should know that there are many New Yorkers who are willing to drive out of the City and pay bridge and tunnel tolls in order to save money by shopping in New Jersey. They travel to Secaucus and to Bayonne to go to WalMart so they can save money on clothing and groceries, and buy fresh fruit and vegetables for their families at low prices.
