New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) has released the following statement to clear the record about what he actually said to New York Post reporter Candice Giove when she interviewed him last week about the Bronx Pride group that is moving into the Rev Ruben Diaz Gardens on November 14th:

“I was surprised to read today’s New York Post’s sensational story by Candice Giove because she completely disregarded what I specifically said to her about Bronx Pride moving in to the Rev Ruben Diaz Gardens building. Candice Giove instead used heresay in her article – by unnamed sources - that I was left ‘hot and bothered’ and that I am ‘furious’.

New York State Senator Rev. Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) has released the following statement:

“Through the press, I heard that a gay organization called Bronx Pride NY has rented office space in one of the buildings that I was instrumental in helping bring to my community to add to the growth of the Bronx.”

For 20 years, Bronx County experienced a phase of total abandonment, where fires, evictions, desolation, and the lack of housing made the county of the Bronx the mockery and a laughing stock for the whole nation.

You should know that on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 Governor Andrew Cuomo awarded $715.9 million in Economic Development Funding through the third round of his Regional Economic Development Council initiative. A grand event to announce this multi-million dollar jackpot was held in Albany in the Hart Theatre at the Empire State Plaza. The Master of Ceremonies for this event was none other than Maria Bartiromo, the former television host of “CNBC’s Closing Bell.”
