State Senator Rev. Rubén Díaz (D-Bronx) along with Ms. Lillian Rodríguez López, President of the Hispanic Federation, and Ms. Estelle Hans, Principal of the Collegiate Institute of Math and Science located at 925 Astor Avenue in the Bronx, will unveil a new computer lab for the students of the Collegiate Institute for Math and Science on Thursday, April 22 at 1:00 pm.

It is my fervent belief that the New York State Board of Regents should be setting a standard of excellence in education by continuing to support the study of many languages, including Italian, Latin, Hebrew and German.

Bronx, NY- State Senator Ruben Diaz announced that tomorrow the New York State Department of Education will release the names of the City’s failing schools. Among them, Samuel Gompers High School, Banana Kelly High School, Bronx Academy High School, James Monroe High School, Christopher Columbus High School, School for Community Research and Learning, and Monroe Academy for Business and Law, which are in the 32nd Senatorial District, which he represents.

Albany, NY- State Senator Ruben Diaz, Sr. today called on the Legislature to pass the Keep Excellent and Effective Professionals in the classroom (KEEP) Act (S.95), which would ensure that the City’s most effective teachers are not laid off in the event of massive budget cuts as is widely anticipated.

Aunque logramos restituir el dinero para mantener abierto los centros de ancianos y la amenaza de cerrar 105 centros de personas mayores de edad ya no es real, por otro lado en el presupuesto el Gobernador Cuomo pide un corte de 2.8 billones de dolares en los beneficios de medicaid.
