Statement from Senator Ruben Diaz Sr., Regarding the KEEP Act
“Losing even one teacher will hurt, but losing many teachers simply because they’re new to the job threatens our schools and would be devastating to the students in my district who need their passion, energy, and good ideas.
"If our schools must lay off teachers, the school community must have a say in who stays and who goes.
GOVERNOR PATERSON EXPECTED TO SIGN THIRD-PARTY NOTIFICATION BILLAlbany, NY - Legislation sponsored by Senator Rev. Rubén Díaz (D-Bronx) and Assemblyman George Latimer (D-Westchester) to provide senior citizens with the ability to designate third-party notification provisions on health care insurance policies is before Governor Paterson, awaiting his signature into law.

Senator Rubén Díaz Donates 32 State-of-the-Art Laptops to Students in the Bronx
State Senator Rev. Rubén Díaz (D-Bronx) along with Ms. Lillian Rodríguez López, President of the Hispanic Federation, and Ms. Estelle Hans, Principal of the Collegiate Institute of Math and Science located at 925 Astor Avenue in the Bronx, will unveil a new computer lab for the students of the Collegiate Institute for Math and Science on Thursday, April 22 at 1:00 pm.
