Walmart is Welcome Here

You should know that in the June 4, 2014 edition of the New York Post, there is an article written by James Covert titled "City Council members rip Walmart’s charity of ‘dangerous dollars.'" The article states: "More than half the members of the City Council have fired off a letter to Walmart demanding that it stop making millions in charitable contributions to local groups here."

That Blue Sky, that is not Blue and is not a Sky

You should know that with the endorsement of the Working Families Party to the re-election efforts of New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, the hopes and aspirations of our Democratic State Senate Conference of becoming the majority and ultimately take control of the Senate have gone all the way up to the sky.

You should also know that back in my college days at Lehman College in the Bronx, I used to have a philosophy teacher that used to tell us “Oh my dear children, that blue sky that is not blue and it is not a sky.”

Worst Are Those who Have Eyes That Work and Cannot See

You should know that election time is right around the corner, and soon enough, you will find volunteers knocking on your doors to collect signatures, and asking for your cooperation to help their candidates qualify to appear on the ballot.

You should know that it is both ironic and frustrating to hear about the negative reception many volunteers experience while knocking on the doors to collect signatures from registered voters.

The Dirty Tricks Some Landlords are Playing to Feed on the Pain and Suffering of Our Community

You should know that there are many landlords who are forcing people out of their homes so they can make more money by using those apartments as cluster-site housing for homeless families, and my Senatorial District has become a hot spot for this scam. Gone with the Wind

You should know that since the New York State Democratic Convention has come to an end, the expectations and aspirations of New York's minority community are gone with the wind.

You should know that even though Hispanics have become a great voting bloc in New York State, no Hispanic has ever held a statewide office. You should also know that there is no diversity in New York State's 2014 all-white state-wide Democratic ticket. The candidates are: Andrew Cuomo, Kathleen Hochul, Eric Schneiderman, and Tom DiNapoli.
