Hunger A Tragic Reality For Too Many Senior Citizens
The Meals on Wheels Association of America released a report yesterday documenting the tragic reality of hunger among senior citizens. “Senior Hunger in the United States: Differences Across States and Rural and Urban Areas” reveals the tragic reality that hunger and malnutrition continue to be significant problems for older Americans.
Knowing how difficult these times are for our senior citizens, State Senator Reverend Rubén Díaz, Sr. has arranged for two thousand (2,000) senior citizens in his senatorial district to receive one turkey each.
New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) will distribute book bags to the first 300 children who attend the Family Day festivity on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the Rock Garden located at East 174th Street and Longfellow Avenue in The Bronx. This family event has been organized by Reverend Joel Bauza, Pastor of the Calvary Church on E. 174th Street.
