New York State Senator Reverend Rubén Díaz (D-Bronx) released the following statement:
“Like many who heard about the prediction that a Biblical rapture world come upon us yesterday, I used the occasion to reflect upon my life. The rapture prediction put many of us in mind of our final judgment.
Since no rapture took place and we are here continuing with our lives, I take from this a rededication to devoting myself to protect the institutions of the family which include marriage between a man and a woman, and to promote respect for all human life.
Advice from Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz to Governor Andrew Cuomo
New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) has released the following statement in response to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s People First Campaign:
“It’s appalling to know that as rent stabilization and rent control laws are set to expire next month, Governor Andrew Cuomo has declared that the top priorities for his agenda include three other issues: same-sex marriage, a property tax cap, and ethics reform.
Our rent stabilization and rent control laws protect 2.5 million New Yorkers – many poor and needy, and mostly Black and Hispanics. These families depend upon rent protection for affordable housing

To Whom It May Concern:
This is a follow up to my initial Freedom Of Information Act request that I sent to the Department of Education by email on Friday, April 15, 2011.
I am in receipt of a one-page letter dated January 3, 2011 which was the initial offer to Cathie Black by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. I also received a follow-up email note yesterday from Mr. Storelli-Castro summarizing the information. While his response is interesting, it is not a substitute for documents.
