  • Open Letter To Recent Senates Events

     

    Dear Constituents,

    The events that have transpired in Albany since June 8th, has caused confusion, anger, and frustration among all of those who have been involved. The grab for power has caused critical legislation that would help our community as well as New York State, come to a standstill. Yet, I want to assure you that I am working in earnest to resolve this issue with my senate colleagues. For those of you who reside in my 10th Senatorial District, who may not know the full details of what occurred, I will try to convey to you what has taken place.

  • Statement from State Senator Shirley L. Huntley on City Zone Idling Law

    On Asthma Awareness Day it is essential that we continue to raise awareness of the adverse impacts of engine idling on those suffering from the respiratory disease," said Senator Shirley L. Huntley. "Legislation such as the city’s new School Zone Idling Law could prevent asthma attacks experienced by hundreds of students citywide. I commend the City Council for their steps to curb engine idling across the city, and urge my colleagues on all levels of government to continue the dialogue to ensure a higher quality of life for all New Yorkers."
