On Wednesday, May 19, 2010 Senator Huntley held her second town hall meeting at Baisley Houses. Michael Kelly, NYCHA General Manager, Carolyn Jasper, NYCHA Director of Queens/Staten Island Management Department joined Senator Huntley to listen to the concerns of the residents. Several key concerns were mistreatment of tenants by management, lack of repairs, the poor condition of playground courts, and the lack of a community center. At the end of the meeting many of the residents felt their concerns would be acted upon.

FIT -A 2 year program designed to help the residents of Baisley Park Houses manage their money. The program can help improve residents finances by reducing debt, increasing credit scores, open a bank account and help prevent rent delinquency. “Participants who have enrolled in the FFP for about four months have on average decreased their debt by $1,765 or (24 percent) and increased their savings by $930 or (46 percent), half of FFP clients have zero savings when they start the program.”
