FELDER’S OFFICE TO REMAIN OPEN 8 A.M. TO 8 P.M. ON PRIMARY & ELECTION DAYS

Senator Simcha Felder (D-Brooklyn) has announced his office will remain open from 8:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Primary Day, Tuesday, September 10, as well as on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, to help constituents who may be confused about their polling site locations or which candidates are running for a particular seat or office. Senator Felder’s office can be reached at 718-253-2015 or via e-mail at felder@nysenate.gov.

“Redistricting has led to polling site changes for many people who may not even be aware of the new locations,” said Senator Felder. “I want to ensure that anyone who wants to go out and vote has the correct information they need to cast a vote.”

FELDER: BOARD OF ELECTIONS LITERATURE LOOKS LIKE “JUNK MAIL”

Calling the latest voting literature from the Board of Elections “ridiculous,” Senator Simcha Felder (D-Brooklyn) is urging constituents who may be confused about their polling site locations to contact his office for assistance.

“The mail from the Board of Elections is poorly-designed, confusing, and looks like junk-mail,” said Senator Felder. “I suspect most prospective voters will end up tossing it in the garbage without realizing that it contains important content. It’s just ridiculous.”

FELDER-SILVER BILL EXTENDS PETITION SEASON TO ACCOMMODATE ORTHODOX JEWISH VOTERS

Legislation introduced by Senator Simcha Felder (D-Brooklyn) and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (D-Manhattan) which amends the election law to accommodate Orthodox Jewish voters has passed the State Legislature. With the unanimous passage of this bill, the first day to sign a designating petition for state and local primary elections in 2014 is now Thursday, May 29. Bill number S7097/A9407 has been sent to Governor Cuomo for his signature.
