The Office of Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today issued an end-of-the-year review detailing many of its accomplishments in areas including public safety, economic justice, taxpayer protection, public integrity, civil rights and environmental protection.

Series of bills aimed at controlling abuse of prescription medications passes Senate
The Senate has passed legislation sponsored by Senator Steve Saland (R, I, C – Poughkeepsie) and Senator Kemp Hannon that would remedy the legal discrepancies found in current law with respect to the diversion, possession, and prescription of non-controlled substances (S. 5260-C).
The New York State Senate today passed legislation to criminalize the sale and possession of synthetic marijuana. The bill (S.6694) would also criminalize the sale and possession of hallucinogenic chemicals deceptively called “bath salts.”
