In October, the Green Jobs/Green New York Program was enacted into law.  This new initiative invests in a cleaner New York while at the same time creating job opportunities.  At a time when economic development is on life support, it is initiatives like this that are needed to stimulate our economy .

SENATOR SALAND ANNOUNCES INNOVATIVE PLAN FOR JOB CREATION AND ECONOMIC RECOVERY

Senator Steve Saland (R,I, C) advanced today with his Senate Republican colleagues a comprehensive plan to create thousands of new jobs throughout the State.  The Job Creation and Retention Act would add no new spending to the state budget and would pay for itself through revenue generated by economic growth.

GOVERNOR CUOMO ANNOUNCES North CAROLINA AIR FILTER COMPANY OPENS FACTORY IN COLUMBIA COUNTY CREATING 180 JOBS

Flanders Corporation will move into shuttered Greenport facility

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced North Carolina-based Flanders Corporation, a leading air filter manufacturer, will establish its northeast production operation in the Town of Greenport in Columbia County, creating 180 new jobs in the region. The company will invest approximately $7 million in the facility. Empire State Development (ESD) will provide the company with $500,000 in Excelsior Jobs Program tax benefits over a 10 year period.

I made a promise to our community that I would work to bring jobs to the region and the State.  I am pleased to let you know that today I joined with Governor Andrew Cuomo and other local officials, business leaders, and community members at SUNY New Paltz to launch the Mid Hudson Regional Economic Development Council.
