GOVERNOR CUOMO ANNOUNCES $785 MILLION IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUNDING THROUGH REGIONAL COUNCILS

Mid-Hudson Region (which includes Dutchess County) will receive $67 million and the Capital Region (which includes Columbia County) will receive $62.7 million in competitive grant monies earmarked for economic development and job creation.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that $785 million has been awarded through the Regional Economic Development Council initiative, continuing the Governor's efforts to redesign the way state government works in order to drive economic growth and create jobs.

Grand Reopening to Feature Free Skate Rentals and Free Hot Chocolate

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that the Empire State Plaza ice rink in Albany will reopen to the public on Saturday, December 31 at 11:00 a.m. Opening day will include figure skating demonstrations as well as free skate rentals and free hot chocolate.

PROJECTS TO UPGRADE STATE PARKS, HISTORIC SITES AND A SKI FACILITY IN THE HUDSON VALLEY ARE ANNOUNCED

$34 Million Investment for Repair Projects

A $34 million investment for NY Works projects to upgrade and repair nine parks, two historic sites and one ski facility in the Hudson Valley was announced by the Governor's office today.

New York Works is designed to reinvent state economic development with innovative new strategy that will put New Yorkers back to work rebuilding the state's infrastructure. The Task Force will help create tens of thousands of jobs by coordinating comprehensive capital plans, overseeing investment in infrastructure projects, and accelerating hundreds of critical projects across the state.
