Seven female high school junior and senior students will win an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) annual conference and receive a $3,000 college scholarship. Applicants must write an essay addressing this year’s topic, “Freedom and Civic Virtues,” which calls upon students to describe how moral principles and the United States Bill of Rights shape the role of young adults in civic engagement.

The New York State Legislature passed legislation protecting families and children affected by autism spectrum disorders from exorbitant healthcare costs.
