Senator Suzi Oppenheimer (D-Mamaroneck) announced Senate passage of her bill, S. 4962-B, which significantly updates New York state laws regarding the euthanasia of animals. The measure would ban the euthanasia of animals by lethal gassing and ensure that animal euthanasia is performed in the most humane manner possible.

Governor Paterson has signed into law, S. 4962-B, Senator Suzi Oppenheimer’s bill significantly updating New York state laws regarding the euthanasia of animals. The measure bans the euthanasia of animals by lethal gassing and ensures that animal euthanasia is performed in the most humane manner possible.
Architects Name Oppenheimer 2010 Legislator of the Year
Representatives of AIA New York State will present Senator Suzi Oppenheimer with a certificate noting her designation as its 2010 Legislator of the Year for her role in sponsoring the recently enacted Smart Growth Initiative.
Coincidentally, the presentation will be made shortly after a press conference commemorating the signing of the smart growth legislation into law. The Ossining Public Library, where the award presentation will be held, is itself a green public building.
