The Senator provides key assistance to ensure maximum funding for Westchester communities
Recognizing the importance of an accurate and complete count of all residents residing in Westchester County, Senator Suzi Oppenheimer (D-Mamaroneck) is actively assisting local communities in her Senate district in their 2010 census outreach efforts.

On May 11, 2010, Senator Suzi Oppenheimer (D-Mamaroneck) awarded Certificates of Merit to members of the Junior Girl Scout Troop 2694 and congratulated them on receiving the Bronze Award, the highest honor given to junior girl scouts. The girls traveled to Albany as part of the New York State Girl Scout Legislative Network.
NYS Senator Suzi Oppenheimer visited the Murray Ave. Elementary Schoolin Larchmont to celebrate the recent NYS grant that she helped securefor the Rye YMCA's Safe Routes to School program. The $5000 grantwill help fund school traffic and pedestrian safety initiatives inRye, Rye Neck, Harrison, Larchmont and Mamaroneck schools.

Asks New Yorkers to take all necessary precautions to ensure safety during heavy storms
State Senator Suzi Oppenheimer (D-Mamaroneck) is encouraging all citizens to take the appropriate precautionary steps to protect their safety, as well as their families and homes.
Senator Oppenheimer advises that, “ Extreme storms present safety risks that can be reduced by taking simple steps to prepare for some of the storm impacts. It is better to anticipate power outages, strong winds, and flooding in advance. I urge everyone to take steps now.”
