Every night, millions of men, women and children in New York go to bed hungry.  The Food Bank Association of New York, a consortium of regional food banks throughout the state, estimates that in 2010, close to three million New Yorkers will receive emergency food assistance from food banks, soup kitchens, shelters and other emergency feeding programs.

Legislature Bans Use of Harmful Chemical in Child Care Products

 

Senator Suzi Oppenheimer (D-Mamaroneck) is pleased to announce that legislation prohibiting the manufacture, distribution or sale of certain child care products containing bisphenol-A (BPA) passed the Legislature and is awaiting consideration by the Governor.  Senator Oppenheimer was a strong supporter and co-sponsor of the bill in the Senate.
